Special skills are skills that belong into the special category in Divinity: Original Sin 2.
Description
[edit | edit source]Special skills are skills that have special criteria which needs to be met in order to be used. One such criteria is weapon skills needing their corresponding weapon(s) equipped in order to be learnt and consequently used. Some skills are exclusive to summoned creatures such as the Swap Places spell of the Black Cat.
Note that each skill has different damage scaling due to its type (weapon-based vs magic) and damage type. As an example the source skill Blinding Squall scales with Aerotheurge as it deals air damage and since it is magic skill its damage formula is: Damage = (Base Damage) x (1 + Elemental Bonus%) x (1 + Attribute Bonus% + Weapon Skill Bonus %) x (1 + High Ground Bonus% + Crit Bonus%) x ( 1 + Misc Bonus %).
On the other hand the skill All In will scale with Warfare if the weapon used deals physical damage. Since it is weapon-based skill (it requires weapon in order to be cast) its damage formula is: Damage = (Base Damage) x (1 + Elemental Bonus%) x (1 + Attribute Bonus% + Weapon Skill Bonus% + Misc Bonuses%) x (1 + High Ground Bonus% + Crit Bonus%).
