Ryker resides in his mansion on the edge of the Stonegarden graveyard; he has often left it in order to personally look through the graves for items or drain the source of the spirits of the garden, which improves his health and youthfulness. Despite this, the Magisters do not challenge him due to him being a powerful Sourcerer, on condition that he doesn't interfere with their plans.
Upon facing the prospect of giving up his current life for an elven ritual, Ryker, being a scion of the elves, took root in compliance with the Mother Tree. The God King then started speaking to Ryker and convinced him to become Sworn. In return, Ryker became an elf again, however the God King's demands gradually grew larger and more frequent, and they pained him. Ryker was also tasked with guarding this ancestor tree. The God King informed him that he will receive visitors in the form of Godwoken, and that once he has killed them he will "be free." Regretting this deal, he plans to enlist the help of the Godwoken in order to attain a tablet used in the creation of The Swornbreaker.
