The Gods of Rivellon, also known as the Seven Gods, are the Eternal lords who rebelled against the God King, banished him beyond the Source veil, and created the mortal races in their own image in Divinity: Original Sin 2.
Overview
editThe Seven Gods were once among the eight Eternal lords who served the God King. When Fane revealed the power of Source to them, seven of the Eternals conspired to overthrow their ruler. They banished the God King and the majority of the Eternal race into the Void, beyond the Source veil.
After the rebellion, each god created a mortal race in their own likeness. The gods drew power from the worship of their creations and consumed the souls of the deceased when they reached the Hall of Echoes. Over the centuries, the gods maintained varying degrees of presence in Rivellon, but by the events of Divinity: Original Sin 2, their power has waned considerably.
Each god selects a mortal champion, known as a Godwoken, to compete for the mantle of Divine – the mortal conduit of Source who maintains the barrier keeping the Void at bay.

Xantezza
editXantezza, the goddess of mirth and laughter, created the imp race – considered the most witty and innovative of the seven races. Like Vrogir, her Godwoken champions are not directly encountered.
The God King
editThe God King is the former ruler of the Eternals who was overthrown and banished into the Void by the Seven Gods. From his exile, he seeks to reclaim Rivellon and offers power to mortals willing to become Sworn to his cause. The God King is not one of the Seven Gods but is central to the events of the game.
