List of creature types
This page lists the various creature types found throughout Divinity: Original Sin 2.
Animals
[edit | edit source]Animals are the natural inhabitants of Rivellon. They are mostly non-hostile and roam freely across the world. Characters with the Pet Pal talent can speak with them.
Common animals include bears, wolves, deer, crabs, chickens, and various birds.
Voidwoken
[edit | edit source]The Voidwoken are beasts corrupted by the Void, drawn to the use of Source and hostile toward every living being, including Undead. They range from small voidlings to massive creatures like the Kraken.
Notable types include:
Undead
[edit | edit source]Undead are restless souls denied rest in the Hall of Echoes. They appear in many forms – from mindless desiccated husks and decomposing warriors to fully sentient beings like Fane. Most undead encountered in combat are hostile, though notable exceptions exist.
Demons
[edit | edit source]Demons are children of the Lord of Chaos who prey on the children of the Seven Gods. They are usually hostile but open to deals – deals that invariably favour the demon. The most prominent demon is Adramahlihk, the Deceiver. Other demons include lesser demons and the demonhounds.
Trolls
[edit | edit source]Trolls are large, powerful creatures found across Rivellon. They often guard bridges or passages and can sometimes be reasoned with. Notable trolls include Grog the Troll, Krug the Troll, and Marg the Troll.
Elementals
[edit | edit source]Elementals are creatures composed of pure elemental energy. They include various totems and sentinels, such as the Clay Sentinel and the elemental guardians found in the Arena of Fort Joy.
Gheists
[edit | edit source]Gheists are terrifying undead creatures encountered at several points, from The Merryweather to the Tomb of Lucian. They are fast, deadly, and capable of teleportation.
Constructs
[edit | edit source]Constructs are mechanical or magically animated creatures. The Eternals created various constructs including the Eternal Sentinels, Eternal Stalkers, and Eternal Protectors found on The Nameless Isle.
Imps
[edit | edit source]Imps are small, mischievous creatures that inhabit pocket realms. They are encountered primarily in the Impish Pocket Realm and related areas.
Fire Slugs
[edit | edit source]Fire Slugs are molten creatures found primarily on Reaper's Eye. Most are hostile, though some like Zenthia can be interacted with peacefully. The Courteous Fire Slug is a notable non-hostile example.
Scarecrows
[edit | edit source]Animated scarecrows are found on the Reaper's Coast, brought to life through dark magic. They include Enchanted Scarecrows and Undead Scarecrows.
Faction creatures
[edit | edit source]Many hostile NPCs belong to specific factions rather than being classified as creatures.
- The Magisters – The youngest faction within the Divine Order, tasked with hunting Sourcerers
- Black Ring – Cultists sworn to the God King, encountered primarily in Act Three and Act Four
- Paladins – The oldest faction within the Divine Order, protectors of Arx
- Seekers – Ex-paladins led by Gareth in search of the Godwoken
