Background

Barin is a son of the Magister Mari Pruitt, who was guarding her bridge when a nearby caravan was attacked by dwarves and voidwoken. With the few magisters available, she managed to lure the voidwoken away and lift the bridge, telling her son to find shelter. Barin stood there as the Magisters were slaughtered and Mari locked herself in her house.
