The Academy of the Seven,[1] also known as The Council Academy[2] or The Ancient Academy of the Eternals,[3] is an ancient academy found within the volcano on the Nameless Isle.

There, you can prove in trial-by-combat that you are indeed, the one I have waited for: The One.

Overview

The Academy of the Seven was established by the Seven Gods as the site where their chosen Godwoken would compete for the right to become the next Divine. It is located on the Nameless Isle, a hidden island that is only accessible to those seeking Divinity.

The Academy houses ancient knowledge about Source, the gods, and the nature of Divinity itself. It serves as both a repository of lore and a crucible where the Godwoken are tested.

The Academy contains several distinct areas:

  • Armaments of the One
  • Forbidden Library
  • Storage Room

Role in the story

The party travel to the Nameless Isle to reach the Academy and compete in the Arena of the One. Within the Academy, the party can:

  • Receive attribute training from the six Masters, each of whom offers a permanent +5 bonus to one attribute in exchange for −5 to another. Each Master can only train one party member, so a full party of four can benefit from four different Masters.
  • Learn about the history of the Seven Gods and the nature of Source.
  • Encounter Ghechswol the Arena Master, an ancient spirit who identifies worthy combatants.

After overcoming the Academy's trials and barriers, the party reaches the Temple of the One, which in turn connects to the Arena of the One – the final battlefield where the Godwoken determine who shall ascend.

Attribute Masters

Six ghostly Masters reside within the Academy, each willing to permanently reshape a character's attributes. Each Master grants +5 to one attribute in exchange for −5 to another. A Master can only train one party member, so a full party of four can benefit from four different Masters.

  • The Academy of the Seven is a key location on the Nameless Isle and cannot be accessed before arriving there.
  • Lucian visited the Academy shortly before his apparent death; evidence within suggests he killed the prospective Godwoken and Masters who taught them.
  • Convincing Bishop Alexandar to abandon his claim on Divinity at the Academy grants additional experience.
