Comeback Kid

From dos2.wiki
Comeback Kid
Once per combat, if an enemy lands a fatal blow, Comeback Kid will help you bounce back to life with 20% health.

Comeback Kid is a talent.

Overview

edit

Comeback Kid prevents a character from dying to a single burst of damage. When an attack would reduce the character's vitality to zero, they instead survive with 20% health. This effect triggers once per combat encounter and only works in combat. Because the character never actually dies, it does not count as a resurrection.

Strategy

  • Comeback Kid is a defensive safety net. It provides insurance against being burst down in a single turn, but does not contribute to damage output or crowd control.
  • The talent is reactive – it only provides value if the character would have died, which ideally should not happen if the party's crowd control and positioning are effective.
  • Characters with Glass CannonGlass Cannon are more vulnerable to burst damage, making Comeback Kid a reasonable pairing, although eliminating threats before they can act is generally a better use of a talent slot.
  • The once-per-combat limitation means Comeback Kid provides diminishing value in prolonged fights. However, if the character is resurrected during the same combat, Comeback Kid resets and can trigger again.

Notes

edit
  • The internal talent ID is `ResistDead`.
