Ancient passage is a hidden passage beneath Fort Joy prison.

Layout

Several floor traps near the entrance emit clouds of poison gas. To neutralize the poison gas from the floor traps, objects like vases may be placed atop of them.

Progressing through this area advances the quest Withermoore's Soul Jar. The genuine jar bears a placard labelled "Withermoore the Supplicant" and is located at (X:376 Y:570). Multiple fake soul jars labeled as "Withermoore's Soul Jar" are also scattered throughout the area. Each fake jar triggers different guardians or effects:

• The northmost jar, at (X:381 Y:572), summons four guardians: Aeromancer, Pyromancer, Eagle-Eyed, and Cryomancer Guardian
• The northeast jar, at (X:388 Y:569), covers the room in an Ice surface
• The southeast jar, at (X:387 Y:554), summons a Traitorous Guardian and two Blademaster Guardians
• The southwest jar, at (X:375 Y:554), explodes, creating a Fire surface

Interacting with the statue of Braccus Rex to the west with ≥15 Wits unlocks the interaction leading to the discovery of the Tyrant's Stride, a cursed item that afflicts the wearer with permanent slowed status when worn without the complete set.
