Arena of Fort Joy
The Arena of Fort Joy is an underground fighting arena located beneath Fort Joy on Reaper's Eye.
Overview
[edit | edit source]The Arena of Fort Joy is a cavern beneath Fort Joy where Sourcerer prisoners organise combat for entertainment and profit. It is one of several arenas located throughout Rivellon dedicated to discerning the chosen one through combat. The arena is accessible early in the game and provides one of the first significant combat challenges. It is operated by the prisoners rather than the Divine Order Magisters, making it a space outside their direct control.
Description
[edit | edit source]The arena is accessed through a trap door located in Camp Boss Griff's kitchen. Upon entering, Thola, the Thorny One can be found standing behind a pedestal overlooking the arena below.
The arena consists of three rough sections, divided by ruined walls:
- Central section – The main fighting area. It has a raised platform on the north-eastern and south-eastern corners; the southern platform stands alone, while the northern platform is connected to the eastern section through an open archway. The ground level is sloped at both ends, with challengers beginning on the south side and defenders to the north. An oil barrel is located on the eastern side at the base of the slopes, slightly closer to the challengers' side.
- Eastern section – Contains a chest which can be opened during the arena challenge, and a ladder on the north wall leading up to the defence platform on the north side of the central section.
- Western section – Devoid of any notable features; the ground is largely flat.

[edit | edit source]Notes
[edit | edit source]- The arena can only be challenged once. If the party are defeated, they are returned to the upper area with their health restored.
- The chest in the eastern section of the arena can only be opened while undertaking the arena challenge. Once completed, this chest becomes unobtainable.
- Winning the arena is one of the earliest ways to have a Source Collar removed in Fort Joy.
- The arena is a missable location – it cannot be revisited after leaving Fort Joy.
- If the Gift Bag: Song of Nature feature Fort Joy Magic Mirror is enabled, the mirror appears to the west of the entrance (to the right of the ladder) and allows character customisation prior to boarding the Lady Vengeance. The coordinates of the mirror are X: 41 Y: 624. Note that enabling this feature disables achievements.
