Entangled is a status effect in Divinity: Original Sin 2 that pins the afflicted character in place, preventing movement and teleportation, while dealing damage each turn.
Overview
[edit | edit source]Entangled is a negative status effect that immobilises the affected character and deals earth damage at the start of each turn. Unlike simple movement-restricting effects, Entangled also prevents teleportation, making it difficult to escape.
Entangled is blocked by magic armour. While magic armour remains, the status cannot be applied. The Torturer talent bypasses this restriction, allowing Entangled to be applied through magic armour and extending its duration by one turn.
Effects
[edit | edit source]- The affected character cannot move or teleport.
- Deals damage each turn based on the source's level and statistics.
- Duration is typically 1–2 turns unless modified.
- Blocked by magic armour under normal circumstances.
Sources
[edit | edit source]Entangled can be inflicted by:
- Worm Tremor – a Geomancer skill that entangles all characters in the target area
- Certain enemy abilities, particularly those used by earth-based creatures
Removal
[edit | edit source]- The status expires after its duration ends.
- Destroying magic armour is not sufficient to remove it once applied; the duration must run out.
- Bless or other status-clearing effects can remove Entangled.
Notes
[edit | edit source]- Entangled is one of the statuses affected by the Torturer talent, which allows it to bypass armour and extends its duration by one turn.
- Despite preventing movement, Entangled does not prevent the use of skills or attacks – only physical repositioning.
- The internal status ID is `ENTANGLED`.
