The chanterelle is known as an elusive mushroom. It's said that 'chanterelle' was once a shy, beautiful woman who was pursued by so many suitors that she fled to the forest and begged the gods to hide her forever. Ever-obliging, the gods turned her to a mushroom, but it's said that those who drink its extract can hide nearly as well as she did.
