Detailed walkthrough

edit

Starting the quest

edit

This quest is started by approaching any of the Flaming Pigs within the Hollow Marshes. The pigs can be found wandering around X: 433,Y: 177. It is reccomended to approach them with a character that has Pet Pal talent and invested points in Persuasion since as soon as player offers to help them, they begin to get scared.

The area around the pigs is heavily covered with poison and oil surfaces that will explode if the pigs begin to panic and run away from the player. This is due to the File:Necrofire.png Necrofire status effect. There are also few Ooze and Oil barrels.

The persuasion check needed to calm down the pigs needs to be passed twice during the dialogue.

Acquiring Bless

edit

The Necrofire status effect can be only removed by casting Bless source skill. Acquiring this skill is part of the main quest The Voices (removed from Definitive Edition of the game).

In order to get Bless the player must speak with the Seven Gods by interacting with specific statues scattered across the isle or by praying together with Malady. The closest statue that will trigger the special dialogue can be found within the Hollow Marshes at X: 517, Y:171. However in order to get to it, the player must defeat a Voidwoken Deep-Dweller (level 6 mini-boss). This mini-boss is accompanied by 2 Decomposing Swashbuckler, 1 Decomposing Cryomancer and 1 Decomposing Aeromancer and 1 Decomposing Marksman.

Second statue can be found at the end of the Dark Cavern, however the entrance is guarded by Noxious and Void Salamanders (level 6) and the inside of the cavern is guarded by an Undead spellcaster Trompdoy (level 6).

Once a player interacts with the statue they will be transported to a vision of Hall of Echoes where they will encounter one of the Gods that will (regardless of dialogue choices) grant them Bless skill. This skill is learnt by all the party members.

Curing the Pigs

edit

Once you have acquired the Bless skill go back to the pigs and cast the skill on any of them. Note that in order to cast this skill the player must not be affected by Source-Muted status effect which prevents both casting source skills and acquiring source points.

The pigs are surrounded by few source puddles which can be absorbed by the player in order to get the source points. The source pools are at X: 436, Y: 189; X: 416, Y: 171, X: 462, Y: 172 and lastly at X: 456, Y: 153. You can also replenish source inside the Decrepit Ruins at Ruined Castle. In order to cure all pigs you need 4 source points as there are 4 cursed pigs in total.

Once any of the pigs is blessed an Undead Scapor will show up and trigger a conversation. You can either persuade her to leave (she dies due to her own undead curse) or fight her. Once Scapor is dead by fighting or by convincing her to pass on, finish blessing all the pigs.

Once all the pigs are blessed go north-east to the entrance to the frozen Dragon's Beach. There you will find one of the cured pigs named Feder. Tell her to go to the Sanctuary of Amadia. Note that in order to do so you must have found or heard of the Seekers hideout.

Once inside the Sanctuary of Amadia, speak with the shrine of Amadia and show empathy/compassion towards Amadia who mourns her dying children. This will make the shrine weep blessed water which is required in order to complete the quest. Note that in case of Lohse you can also achieve this by sharing your plight with Amadia and making her pity Lohse.

Additionaly, if the player is Undead (custom character or Fane) they may have to leave the pool before it becomes blessed as blessed water surface damages Undead.

Once the pool is blessed speak with Feder and tell her to enter the pool. Once within the pool she will revert to her human form. Speak with her once more to fully complete the quest.

Note that if you offend Amadia, she will weep blood. Making Feder enter the pool will cause her to die on spot.
