Most Dangerous When Cornered is a main quest in Divinity: Original Sin 2.
Quick walkthrough
edit- Start the quest via one of these two.
- Go to the Sanctuary of Amadia and speak with either Exter or Gratiana.
- Meet Tarlene near the old armoury.
- You'll learn Gareth went off to a Ruined Castle that holds the weapons of Braccus Rex, their only hope for escaping the Magisters and their Shriekers.
- Find a way around the Shrieker guarding the main entrance.
- Optional: Eliminate or Persuade the first magister party in the Ruined Castle courtyard
- Kill the Magister party attacking Gareth. (x:467, y: 269)
- Speak to Gareth.

- Eliminating the magister party besieging Gareth gives 3000 experience (as part of the quest progression)
- Killing Magister Magister Ranger gives 1200 experience
- Killing Magister Inquisitor gives 1700 experience
- Killing Magister Swordsman gives 1200 experience
- 4800 experience for killing the Magisters at the courtyard
- 2400 experience for Magister Ranger (1200 exp per 1 enemy)
- 1200 experience for Magister Knight
- 1200 experience for Magister Swordsman
- Discovering Sanctuary of Amadia gives 1500 experience
- 7100 experience for eliminating the party attacking Gareth
- Optional: selection of equipment and a Bouncing Shield warfare skillbook
- Leya will remove collars from all Godwoken after Gareth returns. This solves the quest Hot Under The Collar
Notes
edit- If you sneak up to Gareth he will comment on your skills and fully attack the Magisters assaulting him, without the Godwoken being part of the combat (if they are still on the ledge, if not Magisters turn hostile against the Godwoken that Gareth spoke with).
- Note that the quest Healing Touch will fail if you defeat the Magister party directly attacking Gareth.
- If you start the combat with the Magisters and leave the area, Gareth will die.
