Overview

Elemental Ranger adds bonus elemental damage to ranged attacks when the target is standing in a surface. The element of the bonus damage matches the surface type.

Strategy

Elemental Ranger rewards rangers who coordinate with their party to create surfaces under enemies before attacking. The bonus damage scales with level, becoming increasingly valuable at higher levels.
The talent synergises well with party members who create surfaces through spells (particularly Geomancer and Pyrokinetic casters), as the ranger can capitalise on surfaces they did not create.
Elemental Ranger provides consistent bonus damage in most fights, since surfaces are common in combat. This makes it a solid offensive pick for ranger builds after essential talents like  Executioner and  Hothead.
