A Danger to Herself and Others

Detailed walkthrough

Following the southern road after crossing the Paladin Checkpoint or exiting Stonegarden by the northeast entrance, you will find a healer's house. The owner of the house, Gregorius Swann, will be making use of a smoking pipe when you approach him in front of it, and will tell you about a troubled patient. After persuading him to let you down into his cellar to help him, you will encounter the patient. Use the dialogue option given by the Scholar tag to point out her trepanation wound, which the healer had not noticed up to that point. Regardless of the player's choices, combat with her and the four creatures labelled as her emotions is required to complete this quest. Upon damaging her sufficiently, the player can begin the operation to cure her. The correct options during this operation are the following.

• "1. *Slice back her scalp and set to work on her skull with a bone saw.*"
• "1. *Select a pair of delicate tweezers and gently try to remove the maggot.*"
• "1. *Slowly close up the wound.*"

After completing the quest, the player can wait and come back, this time to see that Swann has replaced the smoking pipe with a piece of straw since the player successfully relieved him of his worry, and to talk to the now-cured patient, who will reveal that the Magisters are responsible for this.
