On Elves

*In outlining the physiology and (to him at least) mysterious culture of the elven peoples, Huwbert expresses admiration and fascination. But while he is careful to note the enormity of the suffering visited upon the elves at the culmination of the last great war, his text smacks more of self-congratulation than of any real empathy.*
